Every Time I Die - New Junk Aesthetic
Upon first listen of this album my reaction was “woah! what did I just listen to?”, upon second listen it was “holy shit, this is amazing!”. For their 5th album, ETID combine everything they do best and the result is 11 songs that render an explosion to the mind. The lyrics make you think, the riffs are heavy, and swoon-worthy singer Keith Buckley’s vocals are on point. The album ends with “The Sweet Life” whose chorus states “ain’t nothing gonna break my stride/ain’t nothing gonna slow me down” and surely nothing is stopping this band. Standout Tracks: Who Invited The Russian Soldier?, The Sweet Life

Set Your Goals - This Will Be The Death Of Us
After waiting 3 years for a follow up to the much loved Mutiny!, Set Your Goals most definitely delivered. The title track starts things off right and leads into an album full of pop-punk goodness. The cleverly written “Summer Jam” reminisces of the bands experiences on pasts tours and pays homage to some of the bands they’ve toured with by combining a few of their song lyrics together. You can tell they really put meaning into each song, whether it be political or fun, and singers Matt and Jordan’s dual vocals work great together. The only flaw I could find on this album is Hayley Williams of Paramore “rapping” on “The Few That Remain”, which is highly laughable. Otherwise Set Your Goals put out an album that was fun to sing-a-long to all summer. Standout Tracks: The Fallen, Our Ethos: A Legacy To Pass On

All Time Low - Nothing Personal
“What!? All Time Low is number one? Most of the albums on this list are better than this!”. Yes, yes, I know, but the keyword here is summer. If any band released the album and song of the summer, it was All Time Low. Nothing Personal is full of catchy tracks about partying, love, and having fun. The lead single “Weightless” features the lyrics “maybe it’s not my weekend/but it’s gonna be my year”, a line that will be running through your head over and over. Each track on the album(minus the complete miss that is “Too Much”) displays the bands’ range as they go from upbeat pop-punk to slow pop-rock ballads. If you haven’t drove around with this album blasting out your car stereo at least once, you are truly missing out. Standout Tracks: Lost In Stereo, Weightless
*to be qualified the album had to be released between June 21st and September 22nd
